Undergraduate candidates of Medical and Dental streams along with their guardians have approached the State CET (Common Entrance Test) Cell and the DMER (Directorate of Medical Education and Research) seeking clarification for the admission procedure for the academic session 2020-21.

Separate emails have been sent to both authorities demanding that the admission schedule must be shared for the upcoming academic year along with a brochure and seat arrangements as soon as possible.

The centre's MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) clarified that the admission procedure for undergraduate dental and medical students should start from November 06 across the state and the instructions and regulations regarding this should also be released, as notified by a parent of a student. She also added that the stress among students are very high since its been 02 weeks that the NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test) UG results have been declared.

Parents along with their children, in their letter, also demanded that the state admission procedure should be started by November 06 so that ample time could be given to students who wish to try their luck in state quota along with the All India Quota as well.

The state government announced, in September, their decision to terminate the regional quota of 70:30 in medical admission reserving 70% seats for students from the region. Although, a student has challenged the decision of the government and as a result, a stay has been put by the Bombay High Court on medical admissions until November 10.

The State CET Cell has yet to release any notification regarding the same subject.
