The Ministry of Education has directed all the States and Union Territories to update their vaccination data of teachers on a Google Tracker twice in a week.

The Ministry of Education, during the meeting with education secretaries from UTs and states, directed the officials to propose a plan for vaccinating the teachers on priority basis.

Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Health Minister, informed that over 02 crore additional COVID vaccine doses have been allocated to states this month. The states have been advised to prioritise the vaccination of all school teachers before Teachers' Day on Sept 05, he added.

The State Education Secretaries will discuss the same with their respective health departments and district collectors. The officers will be instructed to devise a plan to vaccinate teachers at the earliest, informed a senior MoE official.

The MoE has also directed the states and UTs to share their vaccination details of teachers on a google tracker provided by the ministry twice a week, added the official.

Keeping in mind the improvement in the COVID situation and students' future, several states have taken the decision to reopen the schools in upcoming days. But, so many parents are concerned over the situation including the concerns over the staff and teachers not being completely vaccinated.
