More Than 20 Lakh Registration for NEET UG; more female candidates than males this year
NTA has scheduled the NEET UG examination for May 7, and the maximum number of enrollments has come from Maharashtra, followed by Uttar Pradesh. Of the total, 11.8 lakh female candidates signed up for the NEET UG, exceeding male candidates by 2.8 lahks.

According to the information from the officials, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG), the most famous entrance exam in the nation, has acquired a record 20.87 lakh enrollments this year, which shows a growth of more than 2.57 lakh from the last year.



NEET UG is a mandatory entrance examination for entry to diverse medical courses/programmes, including MBBS, BAMS, BDS, BUMS, BSMS, BHMS, and BSc (H) Nursing programmes. Of the total, 11.8 lakh female candidates signed up for the NEET UG, exceeding male candidates by 2.8 lahks.



NEET UG examination will contain four subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. Each subject comprises 50 MCQs divided into sections (A and B). The duration of the exam is 200 minutes, from 2:00 pm to 5:20 pm (IST). A total of 200 questions will be there in the exam, and it will be conducted in 13 languages.



As per the marking scheme, Candidates will receive four marks for each correct answer, while deduction of three marks for each wrong answer. Unanswered questions will obtain zero marks. If more than one option is correct, candidates will receive four marks for both options.



For NEET UG 2023, the minimum age demanded is 17 years, and there are no maximum age limits for any category of candidates. NTA has scheduled the NEET UG 2023 examination for May 7, and the maximum number of enrollments has come from Maharashtra, followed by Uttar Pradesh.
