The Ministry of Education notified that around 96% of schools from 24 states and 92% of students participated in the NAS (National Achievement Survey) 2021.

The Ministry informed that the National Achievement Survey 2021 has been held successfully across the nation with schools and students' enthusiastic participation. According to the received initial estimates from 24 States/ UTs, around 92% of students and 96% of schools participated in the survey, added the Ministry.

The survey was conducted in different mediums to evaluate the competencies developed by the students at Class 03, Class 05, and Class 08.

This survey is conducted every three years and the last survey was conducted in 2017.

The officials also added that the NAS 2021 is the first huge achievement after the release of the NEP (National Education Policy 2020). The evaluation of the Survey will be used to measure the students' learning against different criteria like process skills and learning outcomes. NAS 2021 will help in inspiring the competency-based evaluation system over the memory and content-based assessment as envisioned by NEP 2020.

The NCERT conducted the student achievement test, teachers' questionnaire, school questionnaire, and pupil questionnaire to understand the various perspective of students, teachers and schools. It will also help in providing valuable information related to the back ground, rural-urban, teacher training, online education's effectiveness etc. to understand the education system in a exhaustive manner. The CBSE conducted the test's actual administration in the sampled schools in collaboration with the respective states/ union territories.

The NAS Results will be prepared in the form of District Report Cards, State/ UT Report Cards and National Report Cards.
