The National Achievement Survey 2020 has been postponed by the year. The decision has been taken by the Centre keeping in mind the rising cases of coronavirus.

The NAS was scheduled to evaluate the learning level of students and earlier, the survey was scheduled to be conducted in November 2020. The Union Ministry of Education sent the link to the principal secretaries of school education of State and UTs stated, " Due to current prevailing pandemic situation in the country, it has been decided to postpone NAS to 2021".

The tentative schedule for the survey for class 03, class 05, class 08 and class 10 is the first week of October and the second week of November 2021 and States and UTs are invited to voice their opinion as well.

The Survey will be held jointly by the Union Ministry of Education and NCERT ( National Council of Educational Research and Training) to assess the learning competency of the students pertaining to the class in the state-run and aided schools, to understand the educational health, etc.

Punjab held PAS (Punjab Achievement Survey) in August month in online mode to check the learning outcomes of students of Class 06 to 12 and to prepare students and teachers for NAS.
