An agreement has been signed between MoTA (Ministry of Tribal Affairs) and IIPA (Indian Institute of Public Administration), New Delhi for setting up of NITR (National Institute of Tribal Research) at the IIPA campus in the presence of Mr. Arjun Munda, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs.



The agreement was signed at the National Tribal Research Conclave's farewell session. The event was organized by CoE (Centre of Excellence) for Tribal Affairs, IIPA and Ministry of Tribal Affairs.



The proposed institute will be committed to quality tribal research in partnership with Govt. and Non-Govt. NGOs working across the country. Mr. Munda, while addressing the conclave, said that the institute will create feasible models to provide a running solution as part of the research and the institute will also play a significant role through research on future development.



He also mentioned that the institute will also have an education wing to upskill students on tribal art & culture and tribal development.
