The government has decided to execute the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) in Jammu and Kashmir from the 2022-23 session.
The government has approved a calendar for all higher education institutions in the Union Territory and instructed the universities to rigorously cling to the prescribed timelines for the accomplishment of graduate and post-graduate courses. Sixteen colleges have been approved and finalized for skill development program choices with undergraduate courses in Jammu and Kashmir.
With the execution of the National Education Policy 2020, Jammu and Kashmir will propose a national style of curriculum after other states and Union Territories. With this new policy, the Indian education system is improving, but there is also a coherent change in the teaching methods. Even the examination and evaluation system is transforming.
Dr. Rabia Naseem Mughal stated that exams in Jammu and Kashmir's educational institutions would be conducted simultaneously. The results would also be announced simultaneously so that the students here can appear in the competitive examinations without tribulation or unnecessary waiting.
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) may move the session of primary level to higher secondary level school examinations from November to March. According to the information, the administration is actively considering a proposal in this regard. But no final decision has been taken yet- the administration is mulling the offer along with the change in the Higher Education Department (HED) session.
As per the national academic calendar, the Jammu and Kashmir administration recently shifted the HED academic session to July. The cause for redirecting the session is that the class 10 and 12 exams end in November, and the students have to pursue professional courses outside UT. Students will have to wait till July to get admission as the new academic term starts then.
Any modification in the session will put forward the academic session in line with schools across the nation. This action comes after the execution of the National Education Policy 2020 and Uniform Academic Calendar in the Higher Education Department (HED) commencing from the existing academic session.
On July 29, 2020, the Union Cabinet of India endorsed the New National Education Policy in order to supersede the Education Policy of 1986. This policy brings a tremendous positive transformation in education in India. The purpose of launching the National Education Policy 2022 was to restructure the education policy of India.
Under this new national education policy, there is no compulsion or restriction on learning a particular language. Now students can select the language according to their interests. This change is being enforced only after contemplating the different analyses, comments, and suggestions by the stakeholders.
