NMC Released the Revised MBBS Calendar & Curriculum; check the new schedule and details

On Wednesday, NMC- National Medical Commission released the updated calendar and curricula for MBBS batch 2022-2023.

According to the changed schedule, the academic calendar for phase 1 of MBBS will end on December 15, 2023, which would be 13 months (approximately 57 weeks). The time available is about 42 weeks (excluding 15 weeks), in which the prelim/ university examinations and results will take almost ten weeks, vacations will be for three weeks in total, and public holidays for two weeks. In total, 1638 hours will be available for teaching and learning in the Ist phase of MBBS.
After that, the academic calendar for phase 2 of MBBS will proceed for 1638 hours- (39 weeks), from December 16, 2023, to January 15, 2025. The time assigned is 13 months (approximately 57 weeks), and the time available is 42 weeks.
The academic calendar for phase 3 of MBBS will be held from January 16, 2025, to November 30, 2025. The time allocated is 10.5 months (approximately 46 weeks), and the time available is 35 weeks (excluding 11 weeks, in which six weeks are for prelims/university exams, three weeks for vacation, and two for public vacations/holidays).
The 4th phase of MBBS will be carried out between December 1, 2025, and May 15, 2027. The time allocated is 17.5 months (approximately 78 weeks), and the time available is 57 weeks (excluding 21 weeks).
As per the new calendar, the total time for the MBBS degree will be 6864 hours, and clinical postings will carry 132 weeks.
