On Thursday, the Government announced that there is no intention to drop the Civil Services Aptitude Test from the Civil Services Examination.

The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Civil Services Exam every year to select aspirants for the posts of Indian Administrative Services, Indian Foreign Services, Indian Police Services among various other central government posts. The CSE is conducted in three stages: Preliminary, Mains and Interview. The Pre exam is divided into two portions i.e. General Awareness and Civil Services Aptitude Test.

Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, clarified the news to Rajya Sabha by responding "No Sir", in writing. He also clarified that there will be no change in the UPSC CSE pattern including the Interview level which was rumoured to be replaced with the psychological test.
