The cancellation of offline classes has been demanded by the NSUI (National Student Union of India), Goa, keeping in mind the less than 30% attendance as recorded on the first day of school.

The Congress student wing added that the parents of the students are agitated to send their kids to schools due to the COVID-19 panic. As per the official release, "If there are no students, continue online classes as it was before since its the safe mode of education". The release also mentioned that the difficulties and practicals could be taken once a week.

NSUI Goa also stated that it will be really difficult to follow SOPs because students wouldn't be able to follow social-distancing norms while meeting their friends.

Other states have also shut their schools due to the rise in corona cases among students and staff members, as per the release. The student wing further added that the Goa government must not put the lives of others at risk, especially students, and cancel offline classes or NSUI Goa will be protesting against the education department.
