A 'High-Power' committee has been constituted by the Government of Odisha to make mandatory recommendations for govt. school students in Engineering and Medical programmes, as per the official release.

On Dec 28, 2020, the state cabinet proposed for the reservation of the govt. school students' admissions into various engineering and medical institutions which was approved by the cabinet in a virtual (video conferencing) meeting headed by Naveen Patnaik, the Chief Minister of Odisha.

The committee will be headed by the retired judge of the Odisha High Court Justice AK Mishra who has also earlier been the Special Judge CBI and Director of Odisha Judicial Academy among other esteemed members.
