As per the new norms released by the ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India), the desirous candidates can seek provisional admission for foundation programmes after the Class 10 exams. But the provisional admission will be standardized only after qualifying the Class 12 exams.

With these new norms, the students will become Chartered Accountant six months prior to the present timeline.

The government has approved the aforementioned norms and the institute has also gotten the approval to amend the 25E, 25F, & 28F of Chartered Accountant Regulations, 1988 which would enable the candidates to apply for provisional admission after class 10 exams.

President of ICAI Atul Kumar Gupta mentioned that the objective of the proposal was to allow provisional registration to desirous students after qualifying the class 10 exams. He further added that it will help a great deal to students preparing for the foundation course as they would have extra time upskill their knowledge and techniques to qualify the CA Foundation. Mr. Gupta also mentioned that the free classes for the preparation are also being offered which can be accessed anywhere and anytime.

Under the new norms, the candidates will be able to finish four months of study time while they are still in Class 11 and 12 and after class 12 examinations can appear directly for foundation examination in May-June which will benefit them in completing the CA course early, because of their early admission, as notified by Mr. Gupta.
