The initiative is to ensure that citizens receive services in a timely and efficient manner. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann informed that these 710 'patwaris' have been selected through a transparent recruitment process but have not yet received their appointment letters due to pending formalities.

The Chief Minister also revealed plans to advertise more 'patwari' positions shortly, providing opportunities for Punjab's youth to serve the state. He asserts a zero-tolerance stance on corruption in public life, promising severe action against wrongdoers. These announcements come in the wake of recent agitation by 'patwaris' in Punjab following a corruption case involving one of their colleagues. Bhagwant Mann's proactive measures signify the government's commitment to improving governance and ensuring the welfare of the people.

Bhagwant Mann underlines the importance of these new and young 'patwaris' in transforming society and working towards a corruption-free environment. Additionally, 741 'patwaris' who have completed 15 months of mandatory 18-month training will assume their roles as regular patwaris in the field.
