Punjab School and Higher Education Minister Pargat Singh has launched a 'Career portal'. The aim of the portal is to provide professional guidance to the students of the schools and colleges.
The portal has been launched by the state education department in collaboration with UNICEF India and Aasman Foundation.
The minister informed that the inefficiency to choose the right career is the primary reason behind the unemployment issue.
The objective of the portal is to provide adequate career guidance to the students at an opportune time which will help them excel according to their capability.
Sharing a personal thought, he said that had he taken up some other sport instead of hockey, he would not have been able to perform so well.
The students can access the portal at punjabcareerportal.com.
Pargat Singh added that the portal will play a momentous role in directing the students about several online programmes, vocations, and scholarships as part of measures being managed by the Education Department.
Around 10 lakh students will benefit while sitting at home, related to courses, career counselling, and scholarships.
