Punjab Govt Ready to Develop Mohali, Ropar, & Sri Fatehgarh Sahib As Education Hubs
The Cabinet Minister informed that Punjab secured four of the top five positions in the Performance Grading Index (PGI) of the Government of India. Similarly, according to the NITI Aayog Innovation Index Report 2020, Punjab is among the top 10 states where educated and qualified workers are available.

On Sunday, Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that including the modern city of the state SAS Nagar, the proximity districts of the capital Rupnagar, and Sri Fatehgarh Sahib will also be formed as education hubs.
Supervising the Education, Research, and Skilling session during the 5th edition of the Progressive Punjab Investors' Summit 2023 at ISB Mohali, Harjot Singh Bains said that Punjab is a leading state not just in India but also globally.
Spotlighting different actions of the state government towards the growth of the educational ecosystem in the state, he stressed that education is a priority for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's government- Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and the government is open to innovative ideas towards the development of the education sector.
Bains stated that the literacy rate of higher education in Punjab is 76 percent, and the gender ratio in education is equivalent in the state. Approximately 48 percent of the state's population is in the 0-25 age group. Thus the state has enormous potential for investment in the education sector.

It is a matter of pride for us that Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar (GNDU, Amritsar) has become the best university in the nation with an A++ grade, he added.
