Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh has announced that the schools for Class 10, Class 11 and Class 12 will be reopened from July 26.

The further announced that the relaxation has also been increased to a max limit of 50% capacity such as indoor gatherings have been increased to 150 and outdoor to 300.

The CM reported that the state's COVID positivity has declined to 0.3% with Rt (Reproduction number) at 0.75%. He informed that the schools will be permitted to reopen but only fully vaccinated teachers and staff will be allowed to physically present.

The students' physical presence must be consented by their parents/ guardians and the schools will also continue the virtual classes.

He informed that the concerned Deputy Commissioners will submit an undertaking regarding this.

In case the situation remains the same i.e. under control, the govt will also allow the reopening of the remaining classes from Aug 02, 2021.

Earlier, the Govt had allowed coaching centres, colleges, and other educational institutions to reopen with adherence to COVID protocols.
