State-owned RailTel Corporation of India Ltd has announced the implementation of an AI (Artificial Intelligence)-based attendance system for 48,000 government schools across the state of Assam.
RailTel informed that the company has completed the work to deploy an AI-based identification system to apprehend attendance and management of the Student Database Management Information System (SDMIS) for government schools across the Assam state.
Under the system, 48,000 schools will be covered in all 33 districts. The company has designed, personalized, and deployed this AI-based identification system to maintain the attendance record across all the Elementary, Secondary, and Higher Secondary Schools.
The total value for RailTel's project is Rs.19.20 crore, out of which Rs.12 crore is a one-time cost and to be released post completion. The maintenance cost of the project is Rs. 03.96 crore/ year with an opportunity of AMC for the duration of 02 years.
RailTel has finished the project within 04 months, informed the company.
Talking about the project, The Chairman and MD of RailTel Puneet Chawla, while talking about the project, said that all important sectors like education and health are looking towards the innovative digital technologies in the current pandemic situation which is rapidly transforming the world.
