The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Central Board of School Education regarding the compartment exams for Class 10th and 12th. The notice has been issued seeking the answer against the plea filed by the students to cancel these exams due to the corona pandemic.

The CBSE decided to conduct the compartment exams for students who wish to reappear to improve their scores or who failed in some subjects.

The SC has directed the CBSE to file its answer on the subject by 07 September. Earlier, the petition was filed before the CBSE to cancel the exam but it got rejected and the fresh plea was filed against this decision.

As per the Advocate for CBSE, the exams are expected to be held by the end of September month keeping in mind all the safety procedures and precautions. He also added that the number of exam centres has been increased to 1278 and only 12 students will be seated in a single classroom. He also ensured on behalf of CBSE that the proper arrangements have been made for the exams
