The Sikkim Govt. has taken the decision to reopen all schools in the state from October 19 in a phased manner. The Education Department's Public Relations and Publicity Wing Nodal Officer Bhim Thatal announced that the winter holidays 2020 will be completely removed and the classes will be conducted for 06 days in a week with Saturday as a half-day.



Although, the govt. holidays will be as per the schedule and in place. The current academic session will be continued till Feb 13, 2021, and the next session will be initiating from Feb 15, 2021.



The Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) provided by the central govt. must be followed for all the activities organised by schools.



The State Education Department has prepared a calendar that must be followed by the institutes while making arrangements to reopen e.g. maintaining proper hygiene, collecting contact details of all parents. As per the issued calendar, the candidates studying under class 11 and 12 can join classes on a voluntary basis from 19 October but the written consent of parents is mandatory.



The class 06 to 08 will be starting from Nov 02 whereas the class 03, 04 and 05 will be starting from Nov 23.
