More than 1.5 lakh teachers posted in around 1,13,289 primary schools run by the government will have to undertake a mandatory special training programme of a 03-day duration before they start imparting education to students from NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) books which will be introduced in class 01 from 2021-22 session, as notified by the officials of the State Basic Education Department.
The training will be provided in English, Hindi, and Mathematics so that there won't be any difficulty while teaching from the new textbooks. The Officials have also mentioned that the presentation and content in the NCERT textbooks will be different from the current books which are being used for teaching.
Sarvendra Vikram Bahadur Singh, Director of SCERT (State Council of Educational Research and Training) has directed the State Education Institute, Prayagraj to design training modules for Mathematics subject in English; for Hindi subject - Rajya Hindi Sansthan Varanasi; and for English Subject - English Language Teaching Institute, Prayagraj.
Mr. Singh also mentioned that the training modules are being prepared in both modes i.e. online and offline for training.
The state govt has announced that the students will be studying from the next academic session from the NCERT books which will be introduced in a gradual manner from class 01 to class 08 between 2021 and 2025.
Under the initiative, the NCERT books will be launched from 2021-22 for class 01; from 2022-23 for class 02 & class 03; from 2023-24 for class 04 & class 05; and from 2024-25 for class 06 to class 08.
The decision to impart education as per the NCERT syllabus was taken by the CM of U.P. Yogi Adityanath to ensure the continuity of the students' education in case their parents move out of the state and get settled somewhere else.
