The Ministry of HRD (Human Resources Development) has introduced the new way of learning from online mode called the SWAYAM since Lockdown. The meaning of SWAYAM is Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds. The biggest advantage is that the Ministry of HRD ensures that all the learners can pursue education while sitting at home during the period of lockdown. It provides education from Class 9 till Postgraduation. This is possible in an easy way with the help of the internet that can be accessed by anyone, anywhere and at any time. All the courses are prepared by the best educators and are available free of cost to all learners.

SWAYAM platform is the World’s Largest Online Free E-Learning Platform which designed to achieve the three cardinal principles of Education Policy that is Access, Equity and Quality by covering School/Vocational, Under-Graduate, Post Graduate, Engineering and Other Professional Courses.

There are 9 National Organizers operating SWAYAM. They are AICTE, UGC, NCERT, NPTEL, CEC, IGNOU, NIOS, NITTTR, and IIMB.

SWAYAM is divided into 4 sections - 1) Video Lecture, 2) Best Reading Material, 3) Self Assessment Tests, and 4) An Online Discussion.

The students are advised not to pretermit studies, enroll in SWAYAM as the portal has various courses and certification for the candidates who want to shine in various streams such as Law, Engineering, Management, Architecture among others.
