The Tamil Nadu Skill Development Centre has planned to generate 10,000 employment opportunities in the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) sector through the government's 'Naan Mudhalvan' scheme.



During a recent round table meeting, industry leaders in the BFSI sector expressed their support for the state government's skilling initiatives to train young individuals and college students. M Jayaprakasan, CEO of Naan Mudhalvan (Tamil Nadu skilling and capability enhancement platform), along with chief mentor Sai Reddy, emphasized the importance of expanding the BFSI sector.



Jayaprakasan stated the objective of encouraging students to pursue skill-based courses in colleges, with a focus on course objectives, outcomes, and imparted skills. The government is working day and night to make Tamil Nadu the skilled capital of the region. Under the 'Naan Mudhalvan' initiative, over 10,000 students have undergone various skilling courses in banking, financial services, and insurance sector, with over 4,000 successfully placed in jobs.



Rajiv C Lochan, the chief executive officer of non-banking finance company Sundaram Finance, acknowledged the rapid growth of the economy and the financial services sector.
