The Jammu & Kashmir Govt has taken the decision that the educators will now conduct online classes from their homes. The decision has been taken due to the rise in COVID-19 cases across the UT.

Earlier, these teachers were conducting the classes in educational institutions under the 'in-campus in-person' policy.

The notice issued by the Disaster Management Authority of the J&K states, "In view of the prevailing COVID situation, all schools, colleges, technical education and skill development institutes shall not require in person attendance of any member of the staff". The order further clarifies that only online classes will be conducted by the teachers from their homes.

The universities are allowed to follow in person attendance for research and lab work of minimal staff, it added.

The order excludes the staff who is needed by the disaster management authorities for official duties.

Earlier on April 19, the J&K administration ordered the closing of all schools, universities, and other educational institutions due to the spike in corona cases. The shutdown will continue till May 15, 2021. However, teh teaching department was asked top continue their services in online mode from their educational institutions.
