On Tuesday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the centre is contemplating ways to formalise skilling in the school education system announcing the UGC, AICTE, and NCERT must come together or join hands to develop a framework for mapping future skills.
The minister stated that we must de-link degrees from competency and visualize a future where competency would thrive.
He said considerations are going on ways to formalize skilling in the school education system. Today, we consulted with the delegates from Singapore on the path ahead for comprehensive and substantive cooperation toward skilling.
Pradhan stated that the deliberations at the G20 forum would help implement the new National Education Policy 2020 by comprehending and adopting the best techniques and global standards. He said the UGC, AICTE, and NCERT must join hands to create a framework for mapping future skills.
Foundation literacy & numeracy, tech-enabled education, the future of work, and research partnerships are among the precedence areas for consideration during the third G20 Education Working Group conference.
A discussion on deep technology and changing logistics for coastal economies, skill architecture, a seminar on building capacities for lifelong learning, a workshop, and an exhibition on the future of work are part of the events, which will be carried out as a prototype of the meeting.
The first G20 Education Working Group meeting was scheduled in Chennai earlier this year, observed by the second meeting at Amritsar last month. There would be three additional meetings before it reaches an agreement in June.
