UGC Declares the List of Indian Fake Universities
On Friday, University Grant Commission released a list of fake universities in which several universities were declared fake by UGC. These have also been invalidated from granting any degree to the students.

On Friday, UGC University Grant Commission released a list of fake universities which several universities were declared fake by UGC. These have also been invalidated from granting any degree to the students. The state-wise details of fake universities are available on UGC's official website: www.ugc.ac.in.



UGC Secretary Rajnish Jain stated at least 21 self-styled, unknown institutions which are operating in infringement of the UGC Act have been declared fake universities by University Grant Commission, and these are not authorized to confer any degree to the students.



According to the list released by UGC, Delhi has eight fake universities, which include: The All India Institute of Public and Physical Health Science, United Nations University, Vocational University, Indian Institution of Science and Engineering, Commercial University Ltd. Daryaganj, Adhyatmik Vishwavidyalaya (Spiritual University), Viswakarma Open University for Self-Employment, and ADR-Centric Juridical University.



On the other hand, followed by Delhi, Uttar Pradesh has the second highest number of seven fake universities, which include: The National University of Electro Complex Homeopathy, Bhartiya Shiksha Parishad, Gandhi Hindi Vidyapith, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose University- an open university, etc.



Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Kerala, Odisha, and Puducherry also have fake universities on the list.
