The Chief Medical Officers of the UK have approved the usage of the COVID vaccine on children. The approved COVID vaccine can be used on children aged 12 to 15 years.

The medical officers informed that the recommendation to the government was made after considering the effects of the Vaccine on education and on transmission in schools.

The authorities said, "It's a useful tool to reduce the disruption".

According to the CMO's notice, a single dose of the BioNTech/ Pfizer vaccine shall be offered to healthy children. The deployment of the vaccines will start as early as possible.

Under the initiative, the govt aims to vaccinate around 03 million children, which will be provided through schools.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation will take the decision regarding the deployment of the vaccines, but the last call will be taken by the CMOs.
