The Uttar Pradesh government has taken the decision to shut all schools across the state including private and government schools due to the spike in COVID19 cases. The schools for Class 1 to Class 12 will remain shut till May 10, 2021.

The coaching institutes have also been ordered to remain closed. The online classes have also been postponed till further notification.

The decision to close schools and coaching institutions was taken after the announcement of the complete lockdown. The lockdown will continue from April 30, 2021, to May 04, 2021 to control the unusual spike in the Covid-19 cases.

Earlier, the state govt had ordered the closing of the educational institutions till April 30. Also, the govt schools teachers were ordered to work from home till May 20, 2021. The govt had also postponed the college and university exams across the state till May 15, 2021.

Dinesh Sharma, Deputy CM of the State, had informed that the notification regarding these postponed exams will be released in the 1st week of May.
