In a significant declaration, the Uttar Pradesh government proudly announces the creation of 3 crore employment opportunities, both direct and indirect, over the past six years. This commitment has been highlighted through the 5,021 job fairs dispersed across the state.
This dedication culminated in a remarkable statistic: 7.29 lakh individuals have found secure employment channels via these meticulously organized job fairs. The government takes a moment to laud the pivotal role played by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in offering career prospects. Moreover, the administration takes pride in facilitating approximately 6 lakh government jobs during this period.
In the previous financial year, a substantial employment narrative unfolds as 96 lakh MSME units within the state embraced 6,94,751 new employees into their ranks. The spotlight shifts to the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, as it emerges as a catalyst in employing 1,35,250 diligent individuals.
At present, the government's strategic focus shifts towards implementing investment agreements, with a value of Rs 36 lakh crore, to be realized in pragmatic terms. It is envisioned that the activation of these agreements will potentially germinate around 95 lakh fresh employment prospects.
The government's official statement underscores that the majority of these burgeoning job opportunities will originate from the concerted efforts of MSMEs and ODOP initiatives. The synergy between smaller units, steadfastly contributing essential raw materials to their larger counterparts, forms the foundation of this emerging panorama.
The commitment to empowerment extends beyond just job creation. The government has also embarked on a journey of skill augmentation, benefiting the lives of over 1 lakh individuals. Collaborative partnerships have been nurtured, exemplified by the association with the esteemed Tata Group. This union has resulted in the enhancement of skills for students within 150 industrial training institutes (ITIs). The result is noticeable: around 25 lakh students have undergone training across various ITIs within the state, with a remarkable 10.20 lakh securing meaningful employment opportunities.
The state is a host to 50 incubators and an impressive array of 7,500 startups. These enterprising experiences span fields as diverse as artificial intelligence, engineering, and the medical sector. Collaborative ventures with institutions like PGI Lucknow and IIT Kanpur have served as a nurturing ground for these aspiring enterprises. Furthermore, the focus extends to nurturing the skill set of the youth in emerging fields like artificial intelligence, advanced computing, and robotics, thereby charting an exciting trajectory of growth and development.
