On Monday, the Secondary Education Department scheduled an important meeting of district level officials via video conferencing. The meeting was about formulating the formula and modalities to grade the UP Board’s Class 10 and Class 12 students.

A number of suggestions had been put forth by district level officials and principals of govt, govt-aided & private schools, as notified Additional Chief Secretary of Secondary Education, UP Aradhana Shukla.

She also informed that no final decision has been taken as they are still receiving suggestions.

For class 12, one of the suggestions was to finalize the results on the basis of the students' marks obtained in half yearly and annual examination of class 11 along with marks in pre board exams of Class 12.

For class 10, there was a suggestion to consider the Class 09's final marks along with marks in pre board exams of Class 10.

The education department has invited suggestions from all stakeholders before the finalization of the modalities, reported an official.

The UP Board has cancelled the exams for Class 10 and Class 12 due to COVID-19.
