According to an official statement, the Chief Minister's Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (Higher Education) is transforming, now encompassing all graduates. The initiative aims to connect diploma and degree holders from diverse fields with meaningful employment prospects through skill development.

Moreover, the stipend offered to participants has been increased to Rs 9,000. Out of this sum, the state government will contribute Rs 1,000, while the rest will be a collaborative effort, with contributions from both the central government and entrepreneurs.

With a substantial budget of Rs 100 crore earmarked for this initiative, the announcements were made by Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna and Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi at a media briefing carried out in the Media Center Hall of Lok Bhavan.

Under the Apprenticeship Promotional Scheme, candidates will get a monthly stipend of Rs 9,000. The Indian government will bear 50 percent of this amount, totaling Rs 4,500, while entrepreneurs will contribute Rs 3,500. The Uttar Pradesh government will provide the remaining Rs 1,000.

This innovative initiative offers individuals with non-technical diplomas and degrees a transformative year-long pathway to employment, contributing significantly to workforce augmentation. Simultaneously, private and public institutions stand to gain from a reservoir of proficient professionals, fostering heightened productivity and promoting sustainable growth.

Minister Suresh Khanna emphasized that the previous apprenticeship programs were tailored for diploma holders. Under the revised framework, graduates across various streams are welcomed into this newly introduced initiative. This visionary initiative aspires to extend the benefits of the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) to diploma and degree holders, fostering active participation from private institutions. Khanna emphasized that in the coming year, approximately 10 lakh young individuals could potentially reap the rewards of this transformative venture.
