Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath announced that the govt will provide tablets and smartphones to one crore youth for 'Digital Empowerment'.

The Chief Minister's announcement is being considered one of the main youth-outreach actions. The announcement was made during the supplementary budget discussions. After the announcement, the budget of Rs. 7301 Crore was passed by voice vote.

Under the plan of 'Digital Empowerment', the government has already set aside Rs 3000 crore out of the supplementary budget of more than Rs 7000.

This budgetary provision will be used to purchase tablets and smartphones which would be given to around 01 crore high school pass outs mainly unemployed youth.

While announcing the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), the CM also informed that the state govt will also grant allowances to polytechnic pass-outs, technicians, graduate, and postgraduate students who are preparing for the competitive exams. The Govt will also provide free digital access to the candidates.
