Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister for Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, advised that the National Council of Education and Training (NCERT) incorporate 'Yoga' in its curriculum on Saturday.

He went on to say that sports-integrated learning will develop a sense of sportsmanship in pupils and help them adopt fitness as a lifelong attitude.

Yoga, according to Pradhan, is an important aspect of health, wellbeing, and physical education.

We must prioritize yoga from ECCE to Class 12th level while we are establishing the NCF. He also recommended that NCERT hold yoga competitions at the school, block, district, and state levels "he stated.

He believes that involving school pupils from every block will assist to preserve yoga's tradition and promote yoga as a way of life.

From June 18 to 20, 2022, the Ministry of Education and the National Council of Educational Research and Training will host the National Yoga Olympiad.

Around 600 kids from 26 states/UTs, as well as Demonstration Multipurpose Schools of Regional Institutions of Education, will compete in the National Yoga Olympiad this year.

Yoga has aided humanity in easing suffering and strengthening resilience, according to Pradhan, particularly in the post-Covid age.
