The Ministry of Education has launched the Prime Minister's Scheme for Mentoring Young Authors - YUVA 2.0. Under this scheme, young and budding authors will be trained to promote writing, reading, and book culture in the nation and project India and Indian writings worldwide.



Department of Higher Education of Education Ministry has launched this author mentorship programme for authors of 30 years of age or below.



As per the official statement, "YUVA 2.0 is being launched in tune with the Prime Minister’s vision to encourage the youth to understand and appreciate India's democracy. YUVA 2.0 is a part of India@75 Project (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav)".



National Book Trust, India, under the Ministry of Education will execute the scheme as the implementing agency. This year's theme of YUVA 2.0 is ‘Democracy (institutions, events, people, constitutional values – past, present, future)’ in an innovative and creative manner.



A national-level contest will be held through mygov.in. to shortlist a total of 75 authors. The contest will be held from Oct 02 to Nov 30, 2022. The Dept will evaluate the received proposals from Dec 01, 2022 to Jan 31, 2023. The winners will be declared on Feb 28, 2023.



The training session for Young authors will start from from March 01 to August 31, 2023.



The National Book Trust, India, will publish books prepared under this scheme and these books will also be translated into other Indian languages to ensure the exchange of literature and culture. The 1st set of books will be published on Oct 02, 2023.
