The Andhra Pradesh government has declared that all villages in Andhra Pradesh will soon have access to 10,960 digital libraries for Rs. 450 crores. The initiative is part of the government's actions to enhance access to education and technology in rural areas.

Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Grandhalaya Parishad M Mandapati Seshagiri Rao announced this educational initiative during a meeting with state library officials.

The first digital library in the state has already been launched in Kadapa, and the government intends to establish 10,960 digital libraries in the state.

During the conference, Chairman examined recommendations to place digital libraries and buy new books to deliver education and knowledge to the needy. He also said that the education department had presented reforms in order to support this initiative.

In the 2021-2022 budget, Rs. 16 crore had been allotted for purchasing books for libraries, out of which Rs. 10 crore worth of books have already been provided. Rao blamed the previous governments for overlooking libraries, which weakened them.

In addition, all colleges/universities in the state will organise 'Visionary Jagan' sessions from April 5 onwards.
