Government Introduces Post-Matric Scholarships: Transforming Education with Financial Support

The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment has unveiled a comprehensive scholarship program designed for 69 lakh scheduled caste students for the academic year 2023-24. This initiative, falling under the post-matric scholarships scheme, is strategically crafted to offer crucial support to students pursuing higher education.
Applicants must have the following documents in order to apply for the scholarship program- a valid mobile number, an Aadhaar number (UID), an Aadhaar-seeded bank account, an income certificate, and a caste certificate.
Eligibility Criteria
- Annual Income Check: Parents or guardians are eligible if their annual income does not exceed ?2.50 lakh.
- Enrollment Condition: Students must be actively admitted to recognized colleges or schools.
The scholarship program casts a wide net, covering all recognized courses starting from Class 11 onwards. The authorities will meticulously review and verify the applications submitted by each candidate by respective state and government/Union Territory authorities. Students are set to receive coverage for compulsory non-refundable fees. An academic allowance, varying from ?2,500 to ?1,35,000 per annum, will be disbursed based on the chosen course of study.
The scheme incorporates an additional 10 percent allowance, specifically tailored for Divang (specially-abled) students.
