Prema Khandu, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, has inaugurated the first formal indigenous language and knowledge system school of the state in the district of Kameng, as per the official release.

The first-of-its-kind 'Nyubu Nyvgam Yerko' school was inaugurated at Rang village, Seppa. Khandu informed that the school will help in preserving and promoting indigenous language, traditions and culture.

He also admired Pai Dawe for donating land for the institution and Donyi Polo Cultural and Charitable Trust for the ambition.

Khandu assured that his govt is dedicated to preserving the state's indigenous culture and has also established the Department of Indigenous Affairs for which the neighbouring states have also praised him. He added, "People from our neighboring states congratulated me. Many of them have lost their indigenous identity. We Arunachalees have woken up at the right moment".

He also appealed to indigenous leaders to propose suggestions to preserve languages and culture to the department.

The CM also emphasized modern education and states that it can't be ignored and must go hand-in-hand. He appreciated the responsibility taken by the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya group to provide formal education to the Nyubu Nyvgam Yerko students.

He informed that Rs. 03 crores has already been earmarked for the maintenance and development of the school.
