Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal, Union Education Minister, virtually addressed the students selected for the esteemed APFP (ASEAN PhD Fellowship Programme) from ASEAN member states. The programme is funded by the Government of India.



ASEAN PhD Fellowship Programme (APFP) is the extensive development programme assumed by the Govt. of India for the foreign recipient and was announced on January 25, 2018, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the company of ASEAN member states' leaders.



Under this programme, 1000 fellowships are provided to students of ASEAN member states to grant them the opportunity to study in one of the best global institutions IITs. The objective of the program is to open doors to alliances in research and technology for researchers, academicians and scientists from India and ASEAN countries.



Dr. Pokhriyal, while addressing the students, further added that this program will also benefit both India and ASEAN countries and will strengthen the ties in commerce, culture and connectivity.
