Bank of Baroda Unveils Debit Card Under Tamil Nadu Govt Scheme of Financial Support to Women Graduates

Public sector Bank of Baroda has recently joined hands with the Government of Tamil Nadu in order to offer co-branded RuPay Platinum Debit Card in the state delivering customised solutions to its users, the bank stated on Thursday. Bank of Baroda has introduced the debit card that will be offered to the beneficiaries of the state government's 'Pudhumai Penn' scheme.
Accordingly, the card provides personal accident insurance coverage of more than Rs 2 lakh per annum, and the joining and annual fees for the first year have been cut off, Bank of Baroda said. The Pudhumai Penn scheme by the Tamil Nadu government seeks to improve the enrolment ratio of girls from government-aided schools to higher educational institutions.
Through this Pudhumai Penn scheme, every girl will get financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month till the completion of their degree course. Tamil Nadu government's special implementation department principal secretary T Udhayachandran, along with Bank of Baroda general manager and zonal head A Saravanakumar introduced the card in the existence of senior officials of the bank at an event here, the official release said.
