Minister Singh launched the portal in accordance with the spirit of 'One Nation, One Portal'.
The portal 'BioRRAP' has been launched for all who are seeking regulatory approval for biological development activity and research in the country and hence offers a huge consolation for "Ease of Science as well as Ease of Business".
Dr. Singh says, "Biological Research Regulatory Approval Portal (BioRRAP) will help in ease of doing science, scientific research and ease of Start-ups in India".
Dr. Jitendra Singh, during the launch, said that the portal will also permit stakeholders to recognize the approvals granted through a unique BioRRAP ID against a particular application.
He also stated this DBT's unique portal is a stride towards Ease of Start-ups and Ease of Doing Scientific research in India. At present, more than 2,700 biotech start-ups and over 2,500 biotech companies are working in the country, he pointed out.
Dr Jitendra Singh also added that this portal will reinforce interdepartmental collaborations and bring transparency, accountability, and efficacy in the functioning of agencies administering various phases of biological research and permission issuance.
The Secretary of the Department of Biotechnology Dr Rajesh S Gokhale, during his address, said that a BioRRAP ID is generated under the portal for all the research applications and this BioRRAP Id can be used for further submission procedures to respective regulatory agencies based on the research application.
He also added that the portal is exclusive to research-related activities and can not be used for product development.
