UK-based Cambridge International has become the first education board to provide a curriculum based on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The board is introducing an early childhood module for children from 03-06 year age groups from the current academic session in its Indian schools and is also planning to implement it to its schools in other countries.
Deputy Director of curriculum programmes Abigail Barnett said, "This is our first curriculum for age 03 to 06. We've been hearing from our schools and teachers for some time that they would really like Cambridge to do something for this age group". She further added, "Cambridge Early Years programme is aligned with NEP 2020, so when your child completes the programme he or she can also progress to the local store or national curriculum in India".
The Cambridge International Curriculum, in sync to the NEP 2020 which mentions that early Childhood Care should be flexible and multifaceted, includes 06 regions namely communication, creative expression, language and literacy, mathematics, personal, social, emotional, and physical development and understanding the world.
As part of the modules, the Cambridge University Press has designed workbooks and skill books for the students and digital resources that can be accessed at classrooms as well as at home for parents.
The new module is being introduced by the Cambridge International at 50 different centres from the present academic session.
