CBSE has recently established 16 Centres of Excellence for In-service Training of teachers of all CBSE-affiliated schools. COEs conduct training under two classifications: Generic and Subject-specific.
There are 23 training programmes aligned with standard X and 12 subjects. There are 22 generic courses: the adolescent education program, art integration, cyber safety and security, happy classrooms, inclusive education, and more.
Recently 124 Ladakh secondary and senior secondary government schools, UT have been affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). About 1000 Andhra Pradesh Government schools have also come under CBSE.
The National Education Policy (NEP 2020) suggested that every school must confirm the active participation of all its teachers in at least 50 hours of (CPD)- Continuous Professional Development.
CBSE set up a high-powered Committee in order to advise delivering quality training to such teachers. Each State/Union Territory/Body will form a centralized Annual Training Calendar commencing from April to March, with their precise requirements for training. It will be made sure that each Government teacher obtains a minimum of 25 hours of training conducted by the Board or State Government or Government/Regional Teacher’s Training Institutions, and the remaining 25 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) shall be scheduled by the school itself.
All modalities of teachers' training have been finalized in cooperation with the State Governments and Union Territories, which will support and make online registration for teachers' training from their Government, Government Aided, and PPP schools on the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) training portal.
