According to an official statement, the Delhi government-run Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) plans to establish five new schools for science and social science from the academic session 2023-2024.

The new schools will deliver UG and PG programmes/courses in mathematics, public policy, data science, media studies, indigenous knowledge, religion studies, tribal studies, and philosophy.

As per the statement, Education Minister Atishi conducted a review meeting with officers from Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) and the higher education department in order to discuss the expansion of the new schools.

She said the addition of these schools at Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) is a praising effort towards enhancing the quality of higher education in India and training students for rapidly changing industrial needs. Programmes/courses delivered by AUD will specifically concentrate on developing modern 21st-century skills among students.

The programmes to be provided by the new schools are being developed and tailored in consultation with professionals. This will help bridge the gap between academic research and practical applications, Atishi informed. The minister also added that the schools would help boost the benchmark for new-age innovative higher education and would also encourage diversity and innovation.

The new schools will include new-age 21st-century talents into their curriculum, including global awareness, critical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving, digital literacy, and entrepreneurship. The establishment of the new five schools is part of the Ambedkar university's development project that seeks to elevate student strength to nearly 26,000 in the future. The government of Delhi is constructing two new varsity campuses at Dheerpur & Rohini.
