The University of Delhi has launched a COVID helpline to help visually impaired people with ration and medical supplies.

The Department of Social Work under the DU in collaboration with the Blind Relief Association has launched the initiative.

During the corona times, the blind persons are more vulnerable since they depend heavily on the sense of touch so they require special attention, informed the Department. The objective is to reduce their struggle by availing them basic amenities including food and primary medical facilities.

The helpline numbers are 8826248084, 7834873724, 9811819812, 8800128366, 9811699032, and 8638993216.

DU has been actively providing COVID support. Several DU Colleges are running COVID resource helpdesks whereas some others are now running vaccination centres for the public.

In addition, a free RT-PCR facility is being provided by the Keshav Mahavidyalaya in partnership with CDMO NW Delhi. The facility is open from 10 am to 01 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
