Edtech Foray: Motion Education Intends To Invest Rs 100 cr To Scale-up Biz in Hybrid Mode

A leading official of Motion Education stated that Kota-based Motion Education intends to invest at least Rs 100 crore over the next two-and-a-half years to boost business in hybrid mode and create a foray into the edtech segment.



Nitin Vijay, Test preparatory services firm Motion Education founder, an IIT BHU alumni, stated that the company is a profitable venture and in the procedure of raising Rs 150-200 crore funds at an enterprise valuation of Rs 1,000 crore to fund its evolution.



The company has roped in 300 individuals for the edtech segment, which it intends to double over the next two-and-a-half years to 600 people and scale up its offline centres from 52 to 150 by 2024.



Nitin Vijay stated that Rs 100 crore investment would go mainly into the building and regional content along with enrichment of the content of the existing examination. Second, we will put money into the acquisition of skills and talent. We are a reputable and decent profit-making company right now and capable of generating our funds in the next two to three years.



He said the company has already invested Rs 20 crore out of the intended investment of Rs 100 crore.



The company plans to develop centres on the franchisee-owned company operated (FOCO) model in tier-2 towns where franchise owners will require to invest in the range of Rs 1.5-1.75 crore depending on the cities and their necessities. Motion Education will support the franchisee with trained teachers and staff, technology, branding, and marketing support.



Motion Education claims to have around 30,000 students enrolled in short-term classroom courses and other courses on a paid basis. Vijay said a total of about 2000 employees across India, out of which 900 are located in Kota.
