Jamia Hamdard has joined hands with Panasonic India in order to launch a new centre for Training and Development. The centre seeks to deliver practical and relevant training programmes to enable participants to improve their skills and keep up with the fast-changing world.



In order to mark the occasion, the centre organised a three-day workshop named- Behind the Lens.



In his valedictory speech, Vice-Chancellor Professor (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam underscored the importance of lifelong learning and the goal of excellence. He emphasized that the collaboration between Jamia Hamdard and Panasonic India showcases a dedication to delivering practical and appropriate training programmes that would help participants succeed in their future endeavors. He stressed that this collaboration would allow students, professionals, and the industry by bridging the gap between academic and industry requirements.



The Chief Guest of the three-day event, Mr. Hardeep Singh Sarna, Business Chief of Imaging Business India and SAARC, highlighted the essential contribution of photographers to society's well-being and expressed his unwavering support for Jamia Hamdard. The centre's Chairperson, Professor (Dr.) Reshma Nasreen greeted and complimented the guests, spotlighting the centre's emphasis on delivering cutting-edge skills and training.



Professor Farhat Basir Khan, an expert in Communication, photography, and filmmaking, expressed his gratitude to Vice-Chancellor Professor (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam for his innovative leadership in setting up the centre. Professor Farhat Basir Khan also shared his understanding of the latest advancements in photography and stressed the vital role of visual storytelling.



Mr. Sarthak Sawhney, a marketing manager from Panasonic India and esteemed guest of honor, acknowledged Professor Farhat Basir Khan as a pioneering mentor and the father of electronic media and modern photography education in India. Guest of honor, Hitesh Vig, honored Professor Farhat Basir Khan for his pioneering assistance to mass communication and design education in India. Dr. Syeedun Nisa, the honorary director of the centre, expressed appreciation to dignitaries and staff for gracing and conducting the workshop.



The three-day workshop contained lectures and practical sessions on social media, fashion, commercials, photography, and filmmaking. The participants had the chance to learn from experienced and skilled professionals and grow their skills in these fields. The final day of the workshop was exceptionally productive, with participants doing a commercial shoot under the direction of Mr. Pushkar Hans.
