The 'Karmayogi Scheme', an initiative of Lucknow University, has been launched to offer part-time jobs to students while they are continuing their education on the campus. Under the scheme, a student can receive up to Rs. 15,000 (maximum) in a year, as informed by the Vice-Chancellor of Lucknow University Prof. Alok Kumar Rai.

Rai further added that the scheme has been designed to initiate the 'student-centric structured framework' along with other various programmes. Under the scheme, the students would be able to work for 02 hours per day after class for a maximum duration of 50 days during an academic session and they will be receiving Rs. 150/ hour.

For now, the students studying at the Lucknow University campus will be eligible for the scheme and the affiliated colleges are advised to initiate such schemes at their own level.

Prof. Rai also mentioned that the objective of the scheme is not only to provide financial aid but to teach students to respect work and to recognize their capabilities which can be used for the welfare of the university.
