Kerala Govt To Collaborate With Finland For School & HE Sector
The state government is all prepared to join hands with Finland in the fields of general and higher education. The partnership will witness collaborations among research institutes, early childhood education, teacher exchange training programmes, science and math learning, and technology-based education, including assessment of learning at different levels.

Thiruvananthapuram: The state government is all prepared to join hands with Finland in the fields of general and higher education. The partnership will witness collaborations among research institutes, early childhood education, teacher exchange training programmes, science and math learning, and technology-based education, including assessment of learning at different levels.



The authorities took this decision during a meeting with the Finnish team directed by Dan Koivulsao- State Secretary of the Department of Education in Finland, and the high-level from Kerela, led by Chief Secretary V P Joy. The team from Kerela carried out various discussions at the invitation of Finland’s Education Minister- Lee Andersen.



The Kerala team presented and explained the recommendations and suggestions to revise the school curriculum in the state. Finland expresses its keen interest to adopt the best elements of model education.



State Secretary Dan Koivulsao stated that India is witnessed as one of the key countries in cooperation in the specialization of education. An education expert from Finland has been deputed to Delhi in order to deal with the Union government in this regard.



Kjersti Fløgstad, Nobel Peace Centre executive director, has informed the state that the proposal by the government to hold a world peace meeting would be considered seriously. The decision was taken during the meeting between Fløgstad and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, presently in Finland.



Norway will support Kerala in fishing projects:

Norway has delivered help to Kerela in order to form a maritime cluster and enforce new projects in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors. Bjornar Selnes Skjaeran Norwegian Fisheries assured the Kerela delegation led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The Chief Minister demonstrated and expressed the optimistic influence of the Norwegian project that began at Neendakara in Kollam in 1953.



On October 17, 1952, Norway, India, and the UN signed a triple agreement for the development of the fisheries sector and the livelihood enhancement of fishermen. The Neendakara project carried out in 1953 was a follow-up to this agreement.
