The Higher Education Minister of Kerala R. Bindu has inaugurated the state-level Additional Skill Acquisition Programme Cell. The Cell has been launched by ASAP Kerala which works under the Higher Education Department.



While inaugurating, Bindu emphasized the requirement to enable youngsters to attain expertise in innovative subjects such as Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in the era of man-made intelligence.



The aim of the ASAP Cell is to connect students with academicians and industry. The Cell will enact as a platform to spread awareness regarding the skill training sector among students and will also aid them to understand the various careers' potential.



The Cell will also grant opportunities to the students to communicate with industry professionals to furnish them with a knowledge economy.



At present, the ASAP Cell includes a total of 803 educational institutions and more than 40,000 students are part of it. Any student who is interested in joining the cell can do so, but, the priority will be given to both ASAP alumni and current students who possess membership. The Cell will also have a Treasurer and a Chairperson.



Kavitha Kurup, the Global Head of the UST Talent, and the Vice-Chancellor of the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University Rajasree M.S. were also present at the event.
