On Tuesday, Union Ministers Rajkumar Ranjan Singh and Annapurna Devi inaugurated Shikshak Parv, which is being celebrated to felicitate teachers and take the new National Education Policy (NEP 2020) forward.

The commencement of Shikshak Parv was observed by an inaugural conclave carried out by the Ministry of Education, AICTE, CBSE, and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Annapurna Devi, Minister of State (MoS) for Education, said that teachers are role models for the children and play an essential role in shaping students' characters and constructing a value-based society. She stated that under NEP 2020, teachers would have to work on the forthcoming action plan as per the idea of an integrated and multidisciplinary strategy. Emphatic cooperation and coordination of a teacher is the key and motivation for building the skills and character of students.

The ministers delivered the CBSE Honour for Excellence in Teaching and School Leadership 2021-22 awards to 19 Principals and Teachers from CBSE-affiliated schools.

Minister of State Rajkumar Ranjan Singh said teachers share a common goal, whether in schools or higher education. The objective of such honours was to recognize best practices, institution building, and academic leadership. The awardees were chosen on the basis of academic and professional achievements, contribution to the community, innovative and resourceful teaching practices, influence on the comprehensive growth of students, and an interview with the national-level screening-cum-selection committee.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has also initiated the National Technical Teachers Award to recognize and felicitate extraordinary teachers, teaching superiority, institutional leadership, creativity, and innovation.
