Union Budget 2020 India made a focus on the education department by investing a fund of approximately Rs 1 lakh crore. The budget in the 2019 was quite low as it was Rs 95,000 crore.
The problems in higher education are its quantity and quality. In terms of quantity, we have problems in excess supply and short supply. For example - In case of Management and Engineering. Moving on, in terms of Medical we have short supplies. Hence, many students have to go to another nations like China, Russia and Malaysia.
In the terms of quality, no much attention is given on creativity, research orientation and liberal thinking. Ergo, the higher educational institutions should focus on research and teaching methods despite of making money.
It can be sorted out by providing quality of teaching by hiring good teachers. FDI, in the form of industries spending in research parks that can be a beneficial step.
Most importantly, the Budget discuss about the National Education Policy. The improvements in such system includes renovation of institutions, establishment of National Research Foundation and professional faculty. However, the attention is on the right way but the implementation is really a challenging task.
